My healing journey began almost six years ago after several postnatal health conditions emerged with our son which resulted in seeking Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Massage Therapy and Chiropractic care. Marvelous gains were made with our young son utilizing complementary modalities. Through this personal experience the floodgates were opened on my quest to join the realm of healing and bringing this innate passion to others.
I have recently graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, which allowed me the opportunity to participate in a variety of speciality massage student clinics focused on arthritis, invisible illnesses, neurological conditions, treatment focused and spa centred clinics. In addition, the unique training and focus on hydrotherapy I received has certainly added to my blooming repertoire dedicated to healing the human body.
I am feeling thrilled to offer Registered Massage Therapy in my newly renovated home studio in Port Williams finished with a copper tub!
Feathers for me represent my connection to the higher realms, becoming free and flowing, the feeling of becoming more awake and aware.
Simple things for me have become finding more joy in the moment, becoming more present as a human, and as a mother and making new connections.

Yin Yoga can be thought of as the deep tissue massage of yoga. The poses you’ll move through in a yin class help to release physical tension and unblock stagnant energy being held in the body. Yin yoga is a slower-paced style of yoga that focuses on holding passive poses for an extended period of time, typically 2-5 minutes. The practice targets the deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, joints, and tendons rather than muscles. It encourages deep stretching and aims to increase flexibility and circulation in these areas.
Open to all ages 13 + and all abilities.

Hello, my name is Christina (Tina) and I am a Registered Massage Therapist here in the Valley and excited to work with Sarah at her home studio in Port Williams and meet many of you soon! I feel like I’ve had an eclectic work history, from working as a receptionist in a medical office, tried my hands at being a professional sewer, later a high school librarian, to a guard in Iqaluit with the RCMP, (just to name a few.) After raising my son as a single-mom and caring for my aging father during his end of life while balancing the many turbulences of life I felt called to to join the healing community to help people feel completely cared for wherever they are at on their healing journey. I decided to return to school for Massage Therapy, I am a proud graduate from CCMH where I did my massage outreach in a nursing home and gained invaluable experience with clients that had varying conditions from stroke, MS, and dementia. I specialize in deeply relaxing, yet therapeutic massage that not only refreshes the mind but also facilitates the body’s release of muscular tension and any associated pain and discomfort. I enjoy working with all clients, but especially those who are managing chronic conditions or have special needs or considerations. My goal is not just to relieve muscle tension, but to also help your mind feel soothed and at ease. I have trained in Cupping, Rapid Neurofascial Reset, Indian Head Massage, End of Life Doula, Parkinson’s Massage and recently a specialized Oncology Massage Course , ‘Massage for People Living with Cancer’. I am also currently enrolled in the Palliative Care Massage Course. I look forward to ‘tailoring’ a specialized treatment suited just for you. I sincerely look forward to being part of your healing journey.

Yin Yoga with Sarah Thompson

Hello, my name is Sarah Thompson from Herb & Feather, also an RMT and Certified Yoga Instructor and also recently certified in Yin Yoga.

With an immense passion for anatomy, our fascial network, and bringing balance within, I am excited to intertwine these passions within a new yoga offering at my home on selected Thursday evenings.

These sessions will help restore the Yin energy within your body, through stillness, slow paced movements, embracing specific poses that seek to target the connective tissues of the body– mainly the fascia, nourish the ligaments and tendons, and in order to do that we have to let go of muscular engagement which will be a great compliment to our busy more “yang” lived lifestyles.
